TL Lim
Founder and President

TL Lim is the inventor of the Popcorn Hour Networked Media Tank, and the founder and president of Syabas Technologies. Mr. Lim sets the strategic course for Syabas, with a particular focus on the company's technology and product development efforts. A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Lim has a long track record of success in the technology and consumer electronics industries. Since founding Syabas in 2001 and launching the Popcorn Hour brand in 2007, Mr. Lim has built the company into a global leader in the emerging digital home space. Syabas did groundbreaking work early in its existence developing software and middleware that enables users to access content such as high definition and standard definition video, music, photo and services over a local network and the Internet. These efforts solidified Syabas as an early leader in digital entertainment middleware solutions, and the company quickly built relationships with consumer electronics manufacturers in the U.S., China, Europe and Japan. Previously Mr. Lim was a cofounder and senior executive with Xirlink, a manufacturer of web cameras marketed under various brands. Mr. Lim was also a co-founder of Nexent Technology, and held senior positions with ESS Technology and C-Cube. Mr. Lim graduated from Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, with a B.S. in electrical engineering, and also earned an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri.

Alex Limberis
Chief Operating Officer

As chief operating officer for Syabas Technology, Alex Limberis manages the company's marketing, product planning and business development from its headquarters in Fremont, California. Mr. Limberis is a 20+ year veteran in software, data communications and media technologies. Prior to joining Syabas he was the director of wireless, broadband and consumer electronics in Microsoft's Digital Media Division where he drove Microsoft's success in the ubiquitous adoption of Windows Media into the consumer electronics, wireless and broadband ecosystems. In this capacity Mr. Limberis gained extensive experience in the areas of mobile wireless, IPTV, MP3 players and music and video services such as Verizon, Tivo, Amazon and Netflix. He drove Microsoft to join the DVD Forum and then served on the DVD Forum steering committee which resulted in the adoption of Windows Media into the HD-DVD and Blu-ray standards. Mr. Limberis also served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Dolby Labs where he defined Dolby's strategy to enter the networked entertainment ecosystems. Previously he was a vice president at PMI (acquired by Microsoft), VP of strategic marketing at Aureal Semiconductor (acquired by Creative Labs), VP and GM at Korg (Yamaha), and a founder of Ensoniq (acquired by Creative Labs). Mr. Limberis holds several patents in the DSP and media fields. He was a B.S. in electrical engineering major at Drexel University and holds an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.

Peter Tiang
General Manager, Devices

As Syabas' general manager for devices, Peter Tiang has played central roles in the development and launch of the Popcorn Hour Networked Media Tank, and the company's digital signage products. Mr. Tiang serves as head of Syabas operations in Penang, Malaysia, which houses the bulk of the company's software and hardware development activities. Prior to coming onboard with Syabas, Mr. Tiang was a hardware and firmware executive with Hitachi Semiconductor (now Renesas). He also served as a director with Amquest, Malaysia-based consumer electronics startup. Mr. Tiang graduated from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom with a B.S. in electrical engineering.

YC Yeoh
General Manager, Web Services

YC Yeoh is the lead executive for all Syabas initiatives in the areas of web services and graphic design. He has played a lead role in the launch of Saya TV, an innovative new service that enables broadband users to broadcast and share their live video content using peer-to-peer mesh network technology. SayaTV makes it easier than ever to share live events such as weddings, school sports and musical performances with family and friends. Mr. Yeoh joined Syabas from Hitachi Semiconductor (now Renesas), where he served as a senior firmware engineer. He holds both B.S. in applied physics and an M.S. in Information Technology from the University of Science, Malaysia.
